Save Our Wildlife

Conservation starts here — protecting wildlife, restoring habitats, and uplifting local livelihoods in Bukit Lawang.

What We Are Fighting For

• Conservation

We’re fighting to protect the rainforest, its wildlife, and the communities who rely on it. By supporting local farmers and restoring ecosystems, we’re building a future where nature and people thrive side by side.

Josef, the founder of NGO Eco Conservation Bukit Lawang

• Education

We’re committed to education that empowers local farmers and communities with knowledge, resources, and sustainable solutions. When people understand the value of the rainforest, they become its strongest protectors.

• Community

Strengthening local communities is at the heart of everything we do. When people have support, opportunity, and sustainable livelihoods, conservation becomes a shared purpose — not a challenge. A thriving community creates a thriving forest — when people flourish, nature follows.

Habitat Restoration

We focus on reforesting damaged and cleared areas using native tree species. These restored spaces reconnect wildlife corridors and help endangered species move, feed, and thrive again. As the forest returns, it supports biodiversity and strengthens the communities who depend on it.

Eco-Tourism

We offer Eco-tourism gives meaning to travel in a place where tourism is high, yet little support reaches wildlife or local communities. By choosing responsible travel, visitors help create alternative income for farmers and reduce pressure on the forest. Tourism becomes protection — not exploitation.

Our Work

Each initiative is structured to maximize protection

and preservation of local wildlife

Cultural Preservation

Bukit Lawang’s culture has slowly faded as almost all attention shifts to the orangutan. Many visitors never experience the rich traditions, stories, and heritage that once shaped this community. We’re working to bring that culture back — restoring pride, identity, and connection alongside conservation.

Volunteer Opportunities

Whether you're here for a day or a year, volunteers are essential to our conservation work and community support. From planting trees to protecting habitats, your effort creates real change. The experience of a lifetime starts here - Join our jungle family today!
